M S University Gets Ready To Deploy Bouncer-Like Security Guards on Its Campus
To strengthen security on its campus throughout the student union elections, the M S University, situated in the Gujarat state of India, is reportedly geared up to deploy 10 sturdy security guards that are akin to bouncers. News sources reveal that the university will employ the guards for security duties for a period of one month.
Sources make it apparent that the decision to station security guards similar to bouncers has been taken by the university authorities as a result of the anticipation that this time, the MS University Students' Union (MSUSU) elections will be a closely contested event.
Further, it is known that the security guards will be specially selected on the basis of their build and also that these guards will not be from the existing security company which is assigned with the task of arranging security on the campus.
Both small and large student groups numbering around twelve, are likely to fight the polls at the associations as well as at the faculty level and for the MSUSU. Hence, it is likely that a whole array of candidates will contest the elections. Also, it is noteworthy that in the recent past, some of these competitor groups were involved in trivial fights and arguments on the university campus.
Amit Dholakia, M S University`s officer on special duty (registrar), says that the guards, who will be newly recruited, will help the university`s vigilance team in checking and getting rid of unlawful people on the campus. He adds that these security guards will also help the vigilance team in responding to any trouble generated on the university campus. As per mentioned by Amit Dholakia, the existing security guards supplied by a private security agency have been found to be ineffective in managing trouble on the campus. He also mentions that if the service offered by the guards is found to be good and effective, they can be employed for a longer period of time.
