San Rafael Public Library Recruits Security Guards to Implement Behaviour Policy
According to a new revelation, the San Rafael Public Library has employed an unarmed security guard on a full time basis to control problematic behavioural issues. Sarah Houghton, the director of San Rafael library, has revealed that verbal fights and other incidents of unfortunate behaviour were happening at the library and hence a guard has been hired to control these problems.
The library has reportedly signed a contract with the San Rafael-based Barbier Security Group and in accordance with this agreement; the security group has agreed to supply a guard during the open hours of the library. On each week, the library remains open for 55 hours. Barbier Security is charging an amount of $24 per hour and this has led to the piling up of a monthly bill of $5,280.
Sarah Houghton discloses that the hiring of the security guard has made it possible for people to concentrate on their work, which incorporates teaching classes and helping people carry out research in the library.
