Security Surveillance Likely To Be Enhanced At Delhi Airport
The Delhi Electoral Office has implemented a string of measures before the commencement of the Lok Sabha elections to examine the flow of black money and illegal substances in the capital. These include specific measures for keeping a watch on the movement of luggage carried by politicians. As a result of these actions taken by Delhi Electoral Office, politicians will now have to get their belongings examined till the end of the general elections. However, officers from the Delhi Electoral Office, have revealed that a group of politicians who are regarded as VVIPs and who have been spared from security check, will not be bound by these regulations.
News sources disclose that officials have instructed airport authorities to install extra scanners in the arrival lounge at Delhi airport to screen the baggage of air passengers arriving in the city. Further, it is revealed that the DEC has conducted high level meetings with officers from CISF, Delhi Police, Airports Authority of India, BCAS, Customs and operators of private carriers to decide standard operating processes regarding the movement of passengers and freight at the airports of Delhi.
As per the details revealed by Chief Nodal Officer Ankur Garg, the The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has made a detailed list of the passengers who are permitted to drive till the position of the aircraft due to various medical and security reasons. He adds that all baggages, including the hand luggage of those people who are allowed to drive till the aircraft on the airstrip, will be checked by the State police and the CISF.
